SARATOGA, Calif. (KGO) -- Three people, including a teen from San Jose, are dead after a car plunged off a cliff near Highway 9 in Saratoga Monday night, officials said.
Firefighters say the call came in just after 9:30 p.m. to reports of a car plunging 300 feet off a cliff near the highway.
CHP investigators say the driver, identified as a 21-year-old man from Yuba City, lost control of the 2024 BMW M3 and went down a steep embankment.
The driver died in the crash, along with two passengers, a 27-year-old man from Salem, Oregon, and a 17-year-old boy from San Jose.
Highway 9 was blocked off in both directions for around three hours, and the crash is still under investigation.
